This past week felt something like a test of faith in one’s cause in the face of biblical disaster. Every day brought another unexpected blow to our efforts both current and future. It’s a bitter moment when one realizes that the money-and-power-mongers of this world can swiftly exact a devastating attack against the causes of democracy, liberation and enlightenment. Those who most benefit from the status quo will do anything – or not do the right thing – to defend their comfortable position of control.
Everything happens for a reason though, even relative defeat. I will wait and toil anxiously to see how our good works will be eventually rewarded and I will seek to understand the lessons taught through tribulation. Perhaps we will truly become better from it.
