Democracy NC Responds to Firebombing of NC GOP Office

DURHAM — Statewide voting rights organization Democracy North Carolina released the following statement on the weekend firebombing and vandalism of an Orange County Republican Party office.

The following statement can be attributed to Democracy North Carolina Executive Director Bob Hall.

“As a nonpartisan organization dedicated to access, fairness and participation in our democracy, we are deeply saddened by this weekend’s bombing of the NC Orange County Republican Party headquarters. Democracy North Carolina decries any act that seeks to intimidate voters or deter participation.”

Democracy North Carolina is a statewide nonpartisan organization that uses research, organizing, and training to increase civic participation, reduce the influence of big money in politics, and remove systemic barriers to voting and serving in elected office.
