Durham Team: On Point!!!

So this week, like most of my fellow interns I didn’t really know what to expect coming into this week. I’ve done some organizing work in my community and in the past election, but I found that working here at Democracy North Carolina is a totally different and rewarding experience. This week I’ve talked to the chairs of political parties, the Mayor of Pittsboro, and over 100 people in the community through phone banking to let them know about public financing efforts. I’ve enjoyed establishing relationships with people in the office and in the community and I truly look forward to what we do next here in the Durham Office (We’re actually heading out to a community in Pittsboro in about an hour…exciting!)
